Concert series - MORGENKONSERT

Since 2018 I have been running my own concert series - Morgenkonsert (Morning concert). The idea behind the concert series is quite simple; to present concerts at a different time of the day than what is considered to be the norm. The morning concerts always start at 10 AM, giving audiences - and musicians - the opportunity to start the day with live music.

Morgenkonsert started out in Torhsov church in Oslo, and then moved to Sagene church where it still resides. In 2020 I also initiated morning concerts in my home town Hamar, in the wonderful glassed in medievel church ruins in Domkirkeodden. Temperatures here are however equal to outdoors. Because of this, the morning concerts at Hamar in the cold half of the year (which means most of the year in Norway…) are performed indoors either in the adjacent auditorium designed by architect extraordinaire Sverre Fehn or at Hamar teater.

During it´s seven years of existence, the concert series has had the immense joy of presenting many wonderful musicians from a wide range of musical genres, thus contemplating the idea of a concert series focused on the conscious act of listening rather than the idea of a concert series bound to a particular kind of music. Musicians having performed include Arve Henriksen, Harpreet Bansal, Mathias Eick, Arve Tellefsen, Vilde&Inga, Tord Gustavsen, Anne Hytta, Christian Wallumrød, Oslo string quartet, Trio Mediæval, Trygve Seim, and Sarah-Jane Summers. I also perform at quite a few of the morning concerts myself, either with my own projects or as a guest with other ensembles.
